Column Covers

A lightweight and versatile way to upgrade your interiors. Innovative Cast’s column covers are fire-resistant, durable, and can be molded into any shape or form.

Physical Data

  • Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is a composite consisting of gypsum cement and water, reinforced with glass fibers. Complies with ASTM C -1355/C -1355M and ASTM C-1381.

  • Can be primed and painted to achieve any desired colour and finish. Projects requiring a semi-gloss or gloss finish will require additional steps to prep the surface.

  • Class A as per ASTM E84 with zero smoke spread, zero flame spread & zero fuel contribution U.S. Coast Guard approved.

Installation

GFRG column covers are lightweight and pre-fabricated, making installation simple. Finishing is done after installation to ensure a seamless application. Use caution and wear appropriate hand, eye and dust mask protection when handling and cutting GFRG column covers.

General Guidelines For Installation

  • Please store components inside and away from any open exterior entrance.

  • Use drywall adhesive and self-tapping or self-drilling drywall screws.

  • Joints inside column covers meet ASTM C-475 guidelines, but fiberglass tape is recommended.

  • If cutting, use a dry diamond saw blade or a fine toothed carbide tipped metal blade and avoid breathing in the dust.

  • Prior to priming and painting, ensure the column covers are dust-free.

  • Additional preparation of the surface will be necessary if project requires a gloss or semi-gloss finish.
